Dvele New Detached ADU: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If you own a Dvele detached ADU in San Antonio and you’re chasing down a failed part, we stock and install Dvele-compatible replacements, with most swaps running $450 to $1,800 installed depending on the component. We carry common Dvele-series parts on our trucks, so we can usually handle the fix in a single visit. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a door that no longer seals, a panel that’s delaminating, or a mechanical system that’s throwing an error code on the wall-mounted controller. The good news is that Dvele’s modular platform means most parts are replaceable without tearing into the structure.
Benson ADU San Antonio is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Dvele, but we build with their systems and know how their parts fail in Texas heat.
Which Dvele Models This Applies To

Dvele’s current lineup includes the Dvele IQ and Dvele Adapt series, along with earlier Dvele Origin models that are now out of production. The parts we’re talking about here span all three: wall-panel gaskets and flashings, exterior cladding clips, window and door seals, HVAC filter housings, ERV cores, and the Dvele IQ wall-mounted control interfaces.
A compatibility gotcha we see often: Dvele changed their exterior panel clip design between the Origin and IQ series. The older clips are a slide-and-lock style, while the IQ series uses a push-and-rotate clip that’s dimensionally different. If you’re holding a broken clip and trying to match it online, measure the receiver slot. Origin clips run 38mm wide; IQ clips are 31mm. Buying the wrong one means another week of waiting for the right part.
For most Dvele components, OEM is the right call. The panels, gaskets, and control units are proprietary enough that aftermarket equivalents rarely fit correctly. Where aftermarket makes sense is in commodity components: ERV filters, standard HVAC filters, and certain plumbing fittings are all available from quality third-party suppliers at 30 to 50 percent less than the Dvele-branded version, with zero performance difference. We’ll tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.
We also work with Abodu and Cover ADU systems if you have a mixed-property situation or are adding a second unit.
Signs Your Dvele New Detached ADU Is Failing
- Panel gasket separation along vertical seams. In San Antonio, thermal cycling is brutal. The panel gaskets expand and contract with every 30-degree temperature swing, and after five to seven Texas summers they start pulling away from the panel edges. You’ll see small gaps where the panels meet, and moisture can follow.
- ERV or HVAC fault codes on the wall controller. A Dvele IQ wall unit showing a persistent filter warning or airflow error usually means the ERV core is clogged or the filter housing seal has failed. These systems run almost constantly in San Antonio humidity, which shortens filter life compared to drier climates.
- Cladding clips popping loose near roof lines. The top-edge clips take the most wind load and sun exposure. When one fails, the panel edge starts to lift. Wind-driven rain in spring storm season can then get behind the cladding and into the wall assembly.
- Window and door seals cracking or shrinking. The UV exposure on a San Antonio lot with full sun all afternoon will harden Dvele’s exterior seals faster than in coastal climates. Cracks near corner joints are the first sign.
- Intermittent sensor or lock failures on the Dvele IQ control system. Smart-lock and sensor modules are sensitive to heat buildup. If a module is mounted on a west-facing wall, the summer afternoon heat can trigger false faults. We relocate or replace these modules routinely.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Dvele new detached ADU part replacements typically cost in San Antonio, installed:
- Panel gasket replacement (per panel seam): $450 to $750
- Exterior cladding clip replacement (set): $350 to $600
- ERV core replacement: $700 to $1,100
- Dvele IQ controller replacement: $800 to $1,800
- Window or door seal replacement (per opening): $300 to $550
Every quote includes the part, labor, disposal of the old component, and a function test before we leave. The number goes on paper first. Everything else follows from there. If a job runs into hidden damage once we open the wall, we stop, show you photos, and put a revised price in writing before continuing. No change orders that show up as a surprise on the final invoice.
All parts and labor are covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a replacement part fails within a year, we fix it at no cost and schedule a free second visit.
DIY or Call Us?
Some things an owner can safely handle. Checking the ERV filter and swapping it for a new one is a five-minute job that needs no tools. Inspecting panel gaskets visually for gaps or cracks is also reasonable, and you can photograph anything that looks off and send it to us before we send a truck.
What we don’t recommend: pulling cladding panels off to replace clips, attempting to re-seat panel gaskets with adhesive, or opening up the Dvele IQ controller housing to troubleshoot wiring. The wall assembly on a Dvele unit is an engineered system, and a misapplied sealant or a misaligned panel creates water intrusion risk that costs far more than the original repair. Controller housings contain low-voltage control wiring that’s easy to damage with a multi-tool.
If you can see the issue clearly and it matches something above, call (430) 258-2928 and we’ll walk you through whether it’s a phone fix or a truck roll. The diagnosis call costs nothing.
FAQs

Most Dvele exterior seals and gaskets last 5 to 7 years in San Antonio heat before they need replacement, while mechanical components like ERV cores typically run 4 to 6 years depending on usage and filter changes. The Texas UV load and summer humidity are the two biggest factors in shortened lifespan compared to milder climates.
Some components can be repaired, especially controller modules with loose connections and gaskets that are only partially separated, but most failed Dvele parts are sealed units designed for replacement. We’ll always quote the repair option first if it’s viable and honest about when it isn’t.
Most single-part replacements on a Dvele new detached ADU take 2 to 4 hours on site, with ERV cores and panel gasket work occasionally running longer if access is tight. We’ll give you a confirmed arrival window and text you a photo summary when the work is done.
We stock the most common Dvele IQ and Adapt series components on our service trucks: gaskets, clips, seals, filters, and select controller modules. For less common parts we order directly and typically have them in hand within 3 to 5 business days.
